Freddy’s Frozen Custards & Steakburgers, the American fast casual restaurant based in Wichita, Kansas known for their steakburgers, hotdogs, and chicken sandwiches debuts in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 2, 2019 at 4018 S. Padre Island Drive.
The restaurant had a grand opening at 10:30 a.m. and had approximately 90 new hires to help the crowd order their meals in a timely fashion. The owner James Oberg from San Antonio, Texas says “we are able to serve about 2,500 people today”.
Freddy’s was founded by restaurateur Scott Redler and two brothers, Bill (1955-2016) and Randy Simon, whose father, Freddy Simon, was the inspiration for the restaurant, and its namesake. Redler and the Simons created a brand reminiscent of simpler times.
Owner James Oberg says ” we’d love for everybody to come out and serve you the Freddy’s way and that way is a little different than others”.
